The Jamboree-On-The-Air cum Jamboree-On-The-Internet is an annual international event for World Scouting organized by the World Organization of the Scout Movement. As a tradition, it takes places on the 3rd Saturday and Sunday of October every year, and aims at promoting friendship among Scouts all over the world through radio and telecommunications. 500,000 Scouts and Guides make contact with each other over the weekend.
The theme of the base at Hong Kong this year is “To Celebrate the 80th Anniversary of Public Broadcasting in Hong Kong”. In additional to the traditional JOTA activities, elements of broadcasting are inserted, so that participants may not only make contact to overseas scout members via telecommunication facilities, but also learn more about radio broadcasting in Hong Kong.
Information of scoutube and pocast will be placed online during the JOTA period.
